Norman Mailer Wins Bad Sex in Fiction Award

Acclaimed woman-hater and occasional author Norman Mailer died earlier this month, but that didn’t stop him from being lampooned by the Literary Review for writing the worst literary sex scene of the year. Their annual Bad Sex in Fiction Award was awarded to Mailer for his sex scene depicting dictator Adolf Hitler’s conception in his latest novel, The Castle in the Forest, a fictional book about Hitler’s childhood. The passage reads as follows:

I wasn’t raped or abused.” Bristling at the suggestion that it might be less than appropriate for a porn queen to talk to the president, Carey said, “I probably have less sex with those guys than any college girl.” (Sources say she did not chat with the President.)

Well, I don’t think her comment was so silly. She probably does have less sex than any college girl — as long as those girls are the Bush twins.
