Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis released on $1.5m bail

Public enemy number one has been released from a jail in Nevada.

No, not Osama bin Laden — Joe Francis.

Better turn the terror level up to orange.

On Monday, Joe Francis posted $1.5 million bail after languishing in a Reno, Nevada jail for 11 months on federal tax fraud charges. He stood to face charges in Pamama City, FL and opted for the relatively cushier digs in Nevada than brave Florida’s brutal correctional facilities.

With talks of a deal, Bay County lifted his no-bail arrest warrant in Florida.

Today, Francis appeared in a Panama City court and plead “no contest” to charges that he filmed underage girls for his Girls Gone Wild series. He was released based on time served during his recent time in Florida and Nevada jails.

Francis will be on probation and Girls Gone Wild is barred from filiming in Bay County for three years. The county will also return confiscated property including a Ferrari and $60,000 in cash.

Francis will be in court again to face federal tax evasion charges in Nevada at the end of the summer.

Don’t mess with Dita’s dough. Burlesque queen, Dita von Teese is set to sue an LA dominatrix who she accuses of stealing the rights to Slick City, a 2001 movie she made with producer Bob Zahurak.

“Dita had agreed to share profits and split the rights to her films with [Zahurak],” said Von Teese’s lawyer, Keith Fink. But after Zahurak died, Butler took over his company and now claims she alone owns the film and its proceeds.

A website claiming to have the Colin Farrell-Nicole Narain sex tape has popped up on my radar. Dirty Colin loads extremely slow, but when it comes to celebrity booty, sometimes it pays to be patient.

The site includes several screen captures from the video that feature Farrell and Narain in various sexual situations. Farrell had previously sued Narain to block release of their sex tape. I don’t know how long the site will be up if Farrell decides to sic his lawyers on them, so get your looks in now.

Two of our favorite blonde’s, Mary Carey and Paris Hilton were named among the 2005 list of Bimbo’s of the Year. This dubious honor was created by Merrie Spaeth, former director of the White House Office of Media Relations for President Reagan, to honor the worst public comments of the year.

Our own beloved porn star, Mary Carey, got the nod for the following comments:

“We’re not the freakish demons people make us out to be,” said Mark Kulkis, a porn movie producer who bought two $2,500 tickets to have dinner with President Bush at a fund-raiser, adding “I’m not a creep with a coke spoon around his neck.” Accompanying Kulkis was one of his stars, Mary Carey, who said she wants to run for President herself, noting, “I’m very friendly,” and explaining, “I kind of wanted to be a porn star. I wasn’t raped or abused.” Bristling at the suggestion that it might be less than appropriate for a porn queen to talk to the president, Carey said, “I probably have less sex with those guys than any college girl.” (Sources say she did not chat with the President.)

Well, I don’t think her comment was so silly. She probably does have less sex than any college girl — as long as those girls are the Bush twins.

The Colin Farrell sex tape seems to be looming on the horizon, and women and gay men everywhere sit on the edge of their seats with anticipation.

Before Farrell’s sex tape became the center of a discussion involving the Supreme Court, it was just another fringe adult industry distraction. ICG chief executive Sal Abbate says the tape initially was offered to him for $1 million, the caveat being that Narain was likely the only one who would agree to its broadcast. Abbate says he scoffed at the price tag. Meanwhile, upon hearing of Narain’s intention, Farrell’s lawyers sprang into action, hitting ICG with the lawsuit.

“At that point, I said wait a minute, we didn’t do anything wrong,” Abbate says. “We’re like Blockbuster Video. We said if the tape is legal, we’ll be a distributor.”

Since then, Farrell has accused ICG of using his image for profit and Narain has signed a deal with the company. The Playmate also has taken to the media, recently appearing on the MSNBC show Rita Cosby’s Live & Direct, where she pleaded her case.

“Right now, things are looking good from a legal standpoint,” he continues. “Nicole is a copyright holder, and she has gone ahead and agreed to exercise that copyright. We feel we have a really good chance of winning this thing.”

It would be nice if they could get this thing released before Christmas. I need a good gift to give my gays, and gifting them all the Tom Sizemore sex tape just seems like a big lump of coal.
